I Promise It Works!

Micky D’s, the Golden Arches, McDonalds. That is where this story takes place!  So Janice and I went to McDonald’s with her mom for breakfast.  As we are sitting and enjoying our time together Janice, my partner in changing the world, looks at me and asks for lotion for her peeling sun burn. Being the amazing girl I am…I didn’t have any. And neither did her mother. Yes, we are all girls, and yes, none of us had lotion. Lecture me on our failure of purse fulfillment later. Anyway, Janice saw a perfect opportunity, and she took it. “I will go see if there is lotion in the bathroom!” Well, this is McDonald’s and they didn’t. But a sticky note was sure placed on the mirror.

Now the part of the story where I come in! Janice had come back to the table and another lady had gone into the restroom. A few minutes later I looked at Janice and it was already decided. We both wanted to see what these sticky notes could do first hand. Well, I rushed to the restroom, but the lady was still in the stall. And since there was another stall open, and I didn’t want to be a creeper, I went into the stall. Sadly I missed the chance to see that ladies reaction, but when I came out of the stall. A worker was standing at the mirror reading. I was going to let her finish but she noticed I was there, apologized and stepped back.

“I was just reading the sticky note.”

This was a secret mission! I was 007 in female form! I could not let her know that I was friends with the one who posted the note. So, being the awesome undercover agent that I am I washed my hands and read the note.

“That’s crazy!” I said as I walked away to dry my hands.

But as I dried my hands I looked over and the lady was back reading the note. As I left the bathroom I heard her say, “WOW!”

Dudes! What we are doing is making a difference!  People are reading the notes! Now, I hope and pray, that the people who see these sticky notes are doing something about it!!!

On a simple side note: Can you believe that something so simple can do so much constructive damage?

Have you posted a sticky today?

Sincerely,

Your 007 Nicole

A Men's Bathroom and a Sip of Chai!

Because we want you guys to start putting up sticky notes in random public places we decided to share our first experiences with you.. Just so happens it took place today.

For me (Janice) it was in the gentlemen's bathroom! Nicole and I were buying sticky notes and pretty writting pens to carry around so we could put up our facts all around the Denver area. As we're checking out of the store Nicole asks where the bathroom is. "Unfortunately," say's the lady, "the ladies bathroom is broken, but you can use the gentlemen's one." Only God would do this. Ironic isn't He?  He loves me so much that He would give me the chance to not only do this, but to put it in the bathroom of the most dominate gender that buys and sells these girls. He's hilar! But seriously, the overall experience was amazing! I was kind of scared, and SUPER nervous to do this for the first time. But the adrenaline kicked in and I felt like SUPERMAN! Changing the world one sticky note at a time!

For me (Nicole) I left my sticky note in America's number one coffee shop...STARBUCKS!!! While drinking my oh so fabulous Iced Caramel Macchiato I knew it was time...time to change the world. I had to go "potty." The moments leading up to my walk to the woman's restroom were quite anxious. I had a little spare time so I decorated my sticky all pretty like! Because I am a GIRL!!!! I walked into the woman's restroom with a yellow sticky note and I left the woman's restroom without one! Yup, it was that easy! Actually, it wasn't. Janice stayed out with my laptop and trust me trying to take a picture with a sticky note, in a restroom is tough work man! But none the less my "job" was accomplished for the time being.

Lets Explain Our Mission

So, due to the fact that this is our first blog post, lets explain whats on our hearts. We have noticed a huge tragedy that is sweeping the world. From Cambodia to right here in America. What is this tragedy? Sex trafficking, commonly known as human trafficking. Its modern day slavery and it is at the highest it has ever been...IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. Girls are being sold right down the street, yet most people are totally clueless about the situation.

This is where we come into play. Informing you is our first step. With you informed, you can then share the injustice with the people around you. You don't have to have a blog, be outgoing, be rich, super popular, or a straight A student. You just have to be willing to help us stop this injustice. You need to acknowledge there is an issue, and share that knowledge with the people you commonly encounter. Simple as that. People want to save the whales because they know they are dying; yet they do not know about the little girls who are used for sex and are slowly dying in cages all around the world. Information is our key weapon.

Now, how you can help us, help them. We arent asking for money. We just want to get you involved. Here is one way you can do that...STICKY NOTES!!!! How can sticky notes help, you say?!?!? Good question my friend! Here is the answer, you are going to tell people about sex trafficking with them. Put a simple fact on a sticky note about sex trafficking and put our blog address on it! Once you have done this leave it in a public place for someone to find, like a bathroom or dressing room. If you do this we would love to know about it! Take a picture of the note where ever you leave it and send us the picture with your name, age, location, and brief description.
(askmeaboutsextrafficking@gmail.com)! You may even see it here on the blog!!!

Also if you are already somehow involved in the fight against sex trafficking we want to hear about it!! Please send us an email and picture with your story! We want to encourage others that EVERYONE can help! No matter social status or age.

On another note we want to keep you safe. Self defense classes are highly recommended for girls of all ages. Use wisdom. Don't travel alone at night. Even if it's just to your car after work. Ask someone, perferable a male or mulitple females, to accompany you. Remember there is safety in numbers. STRANGER DANGER!!! Be smart about who you talk to. Try not to be alone with ANYONE you've just met. Remember that there can be both male and FEMALE recruiters. We just don't want you to be their next target. Never give out your personal information to strangers. I know we ALL like the attention from a random hot guy, but giving him your number could potentially lead to danger.

Have we started to sound like annoying mother's yet? Good, that's what we were going for!

So now that you're informed, do something about this injustice. Protect yourself, and get involved.
